Finely carved wood hilt of abstracted form (Surakarta form) with demon faces carved in relief to the underside. Broad silvered mendak set with alternating green and amber glass “stones”. Finely carved scabbard of selected contrasting grain burl teak, the stem sheathed in white metal in seven foliate panels. A few minor dents as expected. Wood showing good patina throughout. Heavy 14” four wave blade, probably ancient and remounted several times. The root is well-figured. Showing distinct active lineal patterning. A few small areas darkened with oxidation.
