Edo period, before 1867. Heavy example, 36 3/4" length with natural cane shaft and white bone nock. Brown duck or goose feather fletching secured with fine silk thread binding. Large remnants of a feather on two spines. The third spine bear. The fletch area painted gold. Sparrow beak form iron head, quite smooth with mottled dark patina. Showing age throughout. Heavy armor-piercing example.
