16th-17th century. Cast iron, about 7/8" diameter, spherical with mold mark exaggerated to provide an annular ridge which would engage and penetrate armor. Cannon provided by the Portuguese, were used in Japan before 1600. These projectiles were probably made for their use as they would quickly destroy a musket bore.One only.
