GOTHIC IRON KNIGHTLY RIGHT SPUR C.1400 AD

$650.00

Form distinctively identifiable to that period. Deeply curved rounded side frame of slightly asymmetrical form to bring the shank close to the horse’s body. Double loop terminals. The long shank designed to move under the horse’s flank armor, extends from a small raised lip on the frame. Delicate eight point rowel, complete and rotates. The shank length was used prior to fully evolved horse armor and dating this example to that period. Detail well preserved with minimal oxidation for the period. Ex.
