Just under 2 ¾” (2.70”) length with leaf shaped point flat one side and slightly ridged the other. Butted seam conical socket. Conserved excavated condition. See European Arrowheads and Crossbow Bolts, Rau, p.93 for details including the recovery of such examples from Frankish warrior graves. The Franks were a group of Germanic tribes who, after the fall of Rome, established themselves in modern France and parts of Belgium and Germany. By 800AD, their greatest king Charlemagne, had united much of western Europe and imposed Christianity under penalty of death.
