Fine Zulu Wariors Pipe, Kudu

$425.00

C.1870s and returned to England with a British soldier after the 1885 Zulu War. One piece wood with the bowl of elaborate sculptural form, a baluster over cruciform section globular base. Integral small foot and flared edge stem. Bowl interior with tin liner. Minor blemished and fine deep patina. The quality strictly limits its use to an induna or perhaps, even a member of the Chiefs Council. Only such example we have encountered.
