Danelaw England. Finely forged iron, 3 1/4" length. The point, with a low ridge on one side and flat the other. A flesh cutter for surprised raiding as was done along the Mediterranean and Adriatic coast, particularly Italy and the Balkans. The tapered socket with a butted side seam (minor loss). The bottom slightly irregular as forged originally. Excellent excavated condition and professionally conserved with a certificate of authenticity.
