FINE VIKING HEART PENDANT NECKLACE 900-1050 AD

$210.00
Over 1/2” height plus the loop.  Rare variation with the entire heart comprising a trefoil. That figure was a Viking favorite but usually used as a decorative element rather than defining the form as here. The cusped form of the heart is interpretive and iconic. The uncusped naturalistic form was popular as well and both forms are used profusely in Nordic literature. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Excellent preservation and professionally refurbished with the silver surface restored on an 18” Sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
Item ID: B3398
