17th-early 18th century. 6" blade of fine interactive and brightly contrasting watered steel. The bolster with heavy gold overlay and four character inscription. Oval section ivory grip. Grip shows a few long age checks. Blade with minor smooth black speckles, easily polished out if desired. Quality seldom seen on the market today.
