Fischer #360. Second half of the 19th century. 16 1/8" sharply tapered d.e. iron blade well forged with medial ridge flanked by slightly concave faces. Wood grip and scabbard, carved from a single piece for continuity of color and grain. The hilt of elegant form, tapered with expanded depressed medial pommel. The face carved with a medial ridge flanked by raised bands continuing on to the scabbard and flanking the long opened face revealing the blade within. The areas outside the raised segments colored with scorch decoration. Reverse with medial spine pierced for a suspension cord and corresponding raised flat to the hilt. Wonderful uniform age and hand crafted character.
