FINE OTTOMAN WARRIOR’S PERSONAL SEAL, 17th-EARLY 18th CENTURY

$110.00

Period of Mehmed IV-Suleiman II. Oval bronze,  over 5/8” (0.65”) width, crescent moon shaped, with finely chiseled cursive Arabic signature in reverse to wax seal documents. Reverse with a contoured post grip, the tip pierced for suspension. Indicative of a noble owner as commoners would seldom endorse documents. From a group of similar seals suggests that they were collected after the Siege of Vienna in 1683 where a massive amount of Ottoman booty was collected. Superior quality example.
