Meiji period, before 1912. 4 ¾” diameter of well rounded form on raised foot. Ogee profile top with large grip. Red body color in and out. The top decorated with black lacquered bamboo leaves and gold chiordi (bird), the details executed by cutting through the red lacquer into the body color beneath. That technique was popular in China. Excellent quality and condition.
