From the General Harry Bandholtz Collection which won first prize at the 1905 Saint Louis Exposition with its Bandholtz Collection identification tag. Classic form, Stone 278, #4, 70 1/2” length with well-polished tapered haft with iron base shoe. The medially ridged, tool finished head in iron banded socket. Fine woven split cane wrap in four segments, recessed into the shaft. Captured by American forces during the Philippine Insurrection of 1899-1902 and became part of the Bandholtz collection of Philippine military weapons.
