Forge iron, 10 1/8” length with 6 ½” slightly clipped point blade drawing its inspiration from the earlier scramseax. Tapered tang pierced with three holes for grip scale rivets. Excellent preservation but for the grip sales which have perished. The blade of thin fighting section and definitely not a working or utility knife. Probably used as a misericord to dispatch wounded enemies on the battlefield. Display mount included.
