First-quarter of the 13th century. Fourth Crusade period which took place primarily in Byzantium, was fought largely by French Crusaders. Just over 7 1/2” in length. Wedge section blade with maker’s mark to the left side. Broad exposed tang pierced for scale grips (perished) and original iron pommel. Excellent excavated condition.
