Forged iron of snaffle (hinged mouth piece) form. Large circular rein rings, each of diamond section. The mouth piece of two identical elements, each with rounded square section bar tapered toward the joint. Each with fine broad ring eye with a forged raised medial. Professionally conserved excavated condition. This example is distinguished by its meticulous details which do not contribute to its function but reflect on the position of its owner. ADditionally, it does not show wear from use as invariably found, suggesting that it was made for funerary use.
