FINE AND RARE MIGRATION PERIOD EUROPEAN ARROWHEAD 300-600AD

$255.00

4 ½” (4.55”) length of elegant swallowtail form. Cylindrical bolster with flared seat over tapered tang. Dating to the period of the decline and fall of the Roman Empire when the migrating Barbarians assumed control of its western provinces. These are flesh cutting arrows effective against lightly protected adversaries and particularly horses. See European Arrowheads and Crossbow Bolts, Rau, p.97, right for a virtually identical example. One of just two from our own collection.
