Lovely high relied decorated hilt with gilt tape and leather wrapped grip and heavy gold overlay guard, pommel and knuckle chain. 30” double-edged blade with PARSON & CO, ST LOUIS to the ricasso, decorated first half with owner’s name, A O U W, anchor on bible and scrolling foliage, with light gold background. Plated scabbard with three matching gold overlay mounts. The plating interestingly displaying the A O U W on bare metal ground. Top mount with SELECT KNIGHT and skeletal hand. Evidently early 20th century, this sword displays the fine quality of military presentation swords valued in the four figures. Wonderful display.
