11 5/8” medially fullered blade of fine linear Damascus steel in bright contrasting patter. The forte with incised panel in two ranks each side with gold koftgari foliage. Ivory hilt of characteristic form, divided into panels by beaded borders. The base with facing doves one side and portraits of youths the other. Grip face with standing male and female nobles respectively. The edges with vine and berry motif. The top with a male portrait and a deity in radiant splendor opposite, perhaps Zoroaster. Quality rarely encountered.
