FINE AND RARE TUAREG BELT DAGGER

6 1/2" d.e. blade decorated each side with patterns of "eye brow" punches. Finely made hilt with brass or bronze grip of flat leaf shape with applied copper central rib each side. The brass and copper both with engraved and punched decoration. Copper cross guard of complex deeply sculpted form with hand engraved detail. Iron sheath with brass face engraved in foliate and geometric patterns. The construction, designs and workmanship exactly as encountered on the Tuareg robe daggers "teleks." Excellent with gray surface patina to the blade. Only such example we have encountered.
