Northern Italy. Gilt bronze, semicircular, about 7/8” (0.90”) diameter with radial pierced motif and scalloped edge.  A central hub with radial bars between the circles emulates the Medieval Wheel of Fortune and this pendant is intended to be an amulet embracing that concept. That the wheel is incomplete is a concession to then strong Christianity which mixed with older pagan beliefs in this and many other manifestations. Professionally refurbished with the gold overlay restored, on an 18” Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
