Large 2 ¼” height, bronze, of flamboyant form with engraved borders and radials. Undoubtedly gold surface originally. Iron base plate. Excellent for the period with fine green patina. Sword belts of the period, for broadsword or rapier, comprised a waist belt with dropped hangers and diagonal cross belt. Swords too large to be hung from the waist were carried on the back. Rare and best example of these we have seen.
