C.1790-1810. Circular, just under 3” diameter, black japanned papier-mâché. The cover with a picture of a harbor scene, probably Amsterdam with tall high pitch roof buildings a pier and sailing ships. The form of the box corresponds to the pockets of men’s waistcoats of the period. Inside lip chipped.
