Late 18th-early 19th century. Black papier mache with black on green image of a man and woman in hunting clothes with long guns and dog. He stands wiping his brow, she sits exhausted and the dog is laying. Clearly the end of a great hunt. Period of the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars. Cylindrical, 2 7/8” diameter with flared edges for better purchase.  The inner lip with short damage not showing when closed, The image complete and undamaged.
