Steel hilt with pierced oval guard. The motif throughout circles of faceted studs with intricate twisted silver wire inlay. The urn form pommel with large circles with wire inlay to central disks, surrounded by faceted studs. The knuckle bow with matching circular stud and wire inlay with supporting elements matching. The oval guard wit matching circles alternating with oval studded segments. Quillon block-matching and the grip of faceted panels with silver wire edges. One circle from the pommel and a few small wire segments lacking. The studs appear to be complete without losses The iron with original black finish. 31 7/8” triangular section blade in its cloth blade seat. Fine fighting form. Exceptionally intricate and complete. Northern European, French, Dutch or Flemish dating the turbulent French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars period.
