EUROPEAN RING C.500-900 AD, SIZE 7 3/4

The Dark Ages after the fall of Rome. Size 7 ¾ (slightly over) with 2.4mm rounded face band flared to the reeded shoulders. Raised rounded bezel profusely inscribed with random (?) lines, perhaps cabalistic ciphers or the interpretation of the same by an illiterate workman. Line border with radial surround. At the time, the majority of people were illiterate and to those eyes, this could represent a copy of something seen elsewhere, as in a book. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
