Gilt bronze, size 3 ¾ for wear on the small finger between the first two joints as was the fashion. Rounded band, 1.8mm flaring to the grooved shoulders which rise to a garish rectangular section pyramid form which was fashionable in the 14th century only. Most are mounted with a stone. See our FNS8954. This one is simply rounded at the top with a dot in a circle motif, undoubtedly in respect to the constraints of the class system in which overstepping one’s place could draw scrutiny and even repercussions. Professionally refurbished with the heavy 24karat gold overlay restored. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
