$875.00

Probably French. See Swords and Blades of the American Revolution, Neumann, 302.S for a similar example without the side guard. Iron hilt with double large side guards. Integral back strap and beaked pommel. Wire wrapped black leather covered grip. 35 ¼” curved broad fullered single edged blade. Shows mottled dark staining mixed with scattered pitting throughout. Typical expected condition. Swords such as this were used in Colonial America and the Revolution. This one, perhaps, even served in the French and Indian War., It may well have fought against the Americans in the 1760s and with the Americans against the British in the Revolution.
