German or Swiss. The articulated plate which joined the couter (elbow cop) to the vambrace or rerbrace. 4 ¾” width. 7 ¼” along the curve. Engraved line border scalloped edge. The opposite edge raw as it was overlapped by the next element. From the John Woodman Higgins Armory Museum, Worcester Mass. Forged iron shaped to the elbow. The inside with hammer finish.
