All steel. Faceted grip pommel and knuckle bow. Crenulated oval guard. The whole hilt with original blue faded to gray finish. 33 ¾” flattened diamond section blade in crisp matching condition. A fine example with an exceptional length blade, reflecting on the stature of the owner. Produced at the time of the French Revolution when France was in civil turmoil and every man carried a sword in the street. The main source of functional smallswords was England.
