ENGLISH SHORT SWORD OR HANGER C.1725-40

Variation of the pattern standardized later and designated as the 1742 Infantry Hanger. This example with all brass hilt including symmetrical thickened edge guard with globular quillon, Spherical pommel and brass grip with remnants of spiral grooving. 25 1/8” curved narrow fullered blade struck with a P at the forte.  Well worn throughout.
