Victorian pewter pub spirit (whiskey) measure, ¼ gill (jill), 2” height, baluster form with thumb rest handle. Flared foot, the bottom within has been pushed in to slightly reduce the volume it contains. This could not be done accidently without damaging the foot, and as the server was the only one handling it, the patron would not
see it. The saving of spirit served, over time would accumulate to a significant saving for the owner.
