George III C.1790-1800. Slightly tapered body with a thickened edge (small cracks) banded base and flared foot. Contoured lid with acorn finial (slightly skewed). The interior with a second lid or press which preserved the tobacco from the air. Unmarked. Imperfections as mentioned incurred in its working life and now with good patina. Classic as would be found on the desk of an English officer or gentleman.
