Type used in Colonial America. See Swords & Blades of the American Revolution, Neumann, #6.S for a similar example. 19 ½” curved back fullered blade struck with the Running Fox mark (weak). Mostly smooth gray with some expected pitting at the forte. Brass hilt with thickened edge side guard decorated with a standing mythological figure and foliage. The knuckle bow with a cuirass and spears. Monster head quillon terminal. The pommel with four faces. Dark antler grip. Untouched early example from an old New England collection.
