China, western Asia, 11th-12th century. Forged iron, 5 1/4‰۝ total length, and about 1 3/4‰۝ width with slightly curved cutting edges terminating in barbs and cusped base. Arrows of this size were effective flesh cutters and could bring a horse down whereas a smaller point produced a wound with which the animal could suffer for some distance before falling.
