Mahdist War of 1885. 75 ¼” length with very well forged medially ridged barbed point on rectangular section bolster with chisel raised chevron form barbs in addorsed bands. Open seam conical socket. Blackened (pitch?) cane haft with encrusted surface.  Good representative example from the Dervish followers of Muhammad Ahmed, the Mad Madti who defeated the Egyptians at the Battle of Aba and the British at Khartoum.
