Ingenious variation. 2 1/8” (2.15”) length. Tapered iron with curved end forming a finger loop as these were prone to being lost while attempting to start a fire in the dark. The broad end of wedge section to split splinters by tapping with a heavy stick. Building a fire from a spark required graduated sizes of tinder which this tool could produce. One side struck with two maker’s marks.
