CRUSADER’S MACE, 13TH CENTURY

$435.00

Forged iron just under 2” diameter of bun form with low ribs throughout, obscured in some places by degradation from burial. See Arms and Armor of the Crusading Era, Nicolle, #90c. A horseman’s weapon, originally mounted on a wood haft of about 2’ length, its relatively light construction correlates to the light protection of the Saracen opposition who sacrificed protection for agility in battle. Very rare.
