Large example, just under 2 5/8” height of native base silver with characteristic quaint charm. Highly stylized with a broad cross below a square panel. Triangular beam terminals are inscribed with saltires. Christianity in Ethiopia is traceable to the first century, the time of Christ, and the persecution of Christians. The New Testament (Acts 8:26-36) records Philip the Evangelist’s conversion of an Ethiopian court official in the first century. Wonderful genuine age character, suspended from an 18” modern black polished leather neck cord. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
