Large example, 3 3/8” height with characteristic quaint charm. Highly stylized with pierced broad basket weave cross with incised patterning including saltire scribed and punched beam terminals.  Christianity in Ethiopia is traceable to the first century, the Time of Christ, and the persecution of Christians. The New Testament (Acts8:26-36) records Philip the Evangelist’s conversion of an Ethiopian court official in the first century. Wonderful genuine age character, suspended from a modern black buff leather neck cord. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
