Ex: Methodist Missionary Society, acquired about 1880’s when the slave trade served the Arab and South American markets, in aged condition at the time. Probably Tetela though styles were somewhat blurred by that time owing to the assimilation of ethnic groups.  20 ½” length. Skillfully forged blade with edges alternately concave or in two crisp facets. Medial ridge with chiseled decoration and tool finished medial Copper trade wire wrapped grip. Working life hip to the pommel. From the Methodist Missionary Society Collection which toured churches in England to raise funds for the Missions.
