CONFEDERATE SOLDIER’S PEWTER CUP, CHARLESTON

$110.00
3” diameter, tapered with pairs of decorative bands and scroll handle, unmarked. Purchased in the 1970’s at Schindler’s Antiques, King St., Charleston, South Carolina. It was said to have come from a Charleston house clearance and to have been carried by a Confederate soldier during the Civil War. That time was just 100 years after the war and hardly anyone collected anything. Such items with good honest provenance could be purchased very cheaply. Small crack to the rim.
