Colonial American Whetstone Holder


Made of a cow horn shaved to thin section with a forged iron belt hook riveted on. The top irregular as grown and used. The surface showing very great aging with graining and lamination harboring encrustation. Originally slated sharpening stone intact. Worn on the belt and to allow sharpening of the hand scythe as necessary during wheat harvesting. Great age character.
