So-called squaw axe as these were intended as tools and traded to Indians. 6" height with shield shaped eye, interestingly, sealed at the front with an iron plate. Thick hunched bit. A little original surface the balance with stabilized scaly rust. Both ends of the edge rounded, probably chipped in its working life. Condition indicative of salt water tidal burial.
