3rd-6th century AD. 4 3/4" total length. Broad wedge section with characteristic upturned edge at the point. Short tang for mounting in a hard, probably antler, grip. Stable excavated condition with the profile well preserved. As Celts were headhunters, it is likely that a knife such as this was used for the removal of trophy heads.
