Gilt bronze, from the Dark Ages and the spread of Christianity. The cross beam is centered. Just under 1 3/8” (1.34”) total height. The beams with broad diamond form tips, precursors of the trefoil terminals on later “Jerusalem” crosses. The surface is textured from burial and restored with 24karat gold. On an 18” modern gilt Sterling silver neck chain. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
