Iconic broad heart form with overall trefoil motif comprising addorsed top members formed as tapered scrolling members. The bottom is a stylized diamond and all three with central incised tear forms. Foliate designs were favored by Vikings and incorporated into about half of heart pendants. Just over 1” width. The surface is textured from burial. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, and integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored on an 18” Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
