Used to trim the patch, usually leather flush with the muzzle of the long rifle before seating it with the ram rod. The slightly over sized grip provides improved purchase for rapid reloading. Fine age patina and character. The blade with glossy mottled patina. The lead blade seat worn from use with small loss and crack.
