AFGHAN POWDER FLASK

Early 19th century. Large example for powder or perhaps bullets. 11‰۝ length. Molded leather with bulbous compartment and integral thick spout. Raised mount for a fine pierced iron suspension ring. The surface tooled throughout with central panel of confronting lions each side, rosette incised at the suspension and the balance in houndstooth bands. Fine hand stitched seam, recessed around the pouch. Excellent and undistorted. Surface completely intact with mottled patina and a little staining to one side.
