86 ½” length. Iron head of backswept form with tapered faceted socket extending as the fore spike. Crescent bit balanced by the back fluke, struck with a large crisp maker’s mark. Integral cheek straps. Round wood haft with a grained surface with a light preservative film. The metal with stable old light encrustation. Great uniform age character.
